Flying Spiders?
« on: September 13, 2009, 09:55:37 PM »
"Daddy Long Legs" or whatever they're called, does anyone know anything about them such as any insect repellants to keep them out of my bed-room?

Hope you answer,

Sorck

Keep windows closed seems to be the best and most effective method. Alternatively, mosquito netting placed inside open windows could help keep them out.

The window in my room is rarley open. I actually think that they're coming into the house from somewhere else, maybe it's through the kitchen window as that's open quite a lot of the time. The only other place i see them coming in is through our passageway, it's doors are open most of the time so the dog can easily go outside.

How would i pester away the ones that i have though?

My advice is to ignore them when they're nowhere near you, but squish the buggers when they are.

Simples ::)

I've been doing that for quite a while, but i normally don't notice them until about 11:30 in the evening when I'm in bed, and i normally spend half an hour trying to catch and throw outside the anoying things outside.

They aren't spiders actually. They are craneflys.

They contain the most lethal venom in the entire animal kingdom...

...however their fangs are so weak they can't break human skin.

However if they find an open cut you are in deep trouble.

Is that true! :o

Hmm, I don't believe that. If that were true then why haven't heard about it before?

You need to watch more television.

Mythbusters did an episode on it and pretty much said the same as Leatherback.

You're scaring me now.
I think I'll use a lasgun to try and shoot them down insect repellant to keep them away :)

A 'crossed-out-lasgun'/insect repellant is effective until the point the cranefly come along with a ''crossed-out-lasgun'/human repellant.
Rejoice, my people.
