Reason for joining starfleet/approapriate "empire": Sorck joined a very prestegious organisation called the Romulan Empire, which is common for a Romulan as most join during their early life. Unlike most members of the Empire he was a dedicated to being a pilot. During the year 237? Sorck was onboard the romulan vessel "Valdor" that aided the Enterprise(NCC-1701-E) in it's battle against the Scimitar. At the time of this battle taking place he was at the helm but he showed that he was a capable pilot. After this encounter Sorck became the Romulan liason to Starfleet Command and assumed a Field Comission of Lieutenant and has served as Helmsman on several Starfleet vessels when skilled pilots were required.
Sorck was called up for the mission to leave the Milky-Way because there was going to be lots of unkown dangers to surpass.
